From our historical RFQ data, around 70% of incoming part requests fall within 1–100 pieces. We support both prototype batches and volume production with no minimum-order requirement. Submit your drawing for feasibility evaluation.

Typical Parts We Cut by Wire EDM

Real demand from our RFQ inbox — hardened profiles and internal shapes are among the most frequent EDM requests we receive, mostly for tooling and precision components.

  • Die inserts and punches
  • Precision slots and internal profiles
  • Form profiles in hardened steel and exotic alloys

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is wire EDM used for?

Cutting precise profiles, internal shapes and narrow slots in hardened steel, tool steel and exotic alloys that cannot be machined with conventional cutters — die inserts, punches, form profiles and prototype parts with sharp internal corners.

  • What tolerances can wire EDM hold?

±0.005 mm on critical features, verified on a CMM with a full report. General dimensions run at ±0.05–0.1 mm unless specified.

  • What surface finish does wire EDM produce?

Ra 0.4 μm as a working standard, down to Ra 0.1 μm with skim passes. The cut is burr-free — no secondary deburring of the profile edges.

  • Can you EDM after heat treatment?

Yes. Wire EDM is the standard finishing step for hardened tooling — the hardened part is cut to final profile without distortion, which is why it is the default for die and mold work.

  • Wire EDM or laser cutting — which fits my part?

Wire EDM wins on thick material, tight internal corners and higher precision; laser is faster on thin sheet but leaves a heat-affected zone and larger kerf. For functional profiles in hardened material, EDM is the reliable choice.

  • Do you provide CMM reports with EDM parts?

Yes. Every batch is inspected on a CMM with a free FAI report on your first order, and we report measured values on critical dimensions.
