These precision machining tracks share similar processes, materials, and quality standards.
Standard bracket materials include 6061-T6 aluminum (light-duty), 1018/1026 steel (general purpose), 304/316 stainless steel (corrosive environments), and 7075-T6 aluminum (high-strength applications). We also machine brackets from Delrin, Nylon, and PEEK for non-metallic or insulating requirements.
We machine brackets from 0.5mm to 100mm material thickness. For thin-gauge brackets (<2mm), we use specialized fixturing and clamping strategies to prevent distortion. For thick brackets, our DMG MORI 5-axis machines can handle material removal up to 500mm × 400mm × 400mm work envelope.
We machine brackets in their final geometry, eliminating the need for secondary bending operations. Complex brackets with multiple planes, bosses, ribs, and mounting pads are machined from solid in a single 5-axis setup. This provides superior strength (no bend lines), tighter tolerances, and faster lead times than formed brackets.
Standard lead time for custom brackets is 2-5 working days for quantities up to 100 pieces. Simple L-brackets with 2-4 holes can be quoted and machined same-day. For production quantities (100-5000+), typical lead time is 2-3 weeks. We offer 24-hour rush service for urgent requirements.
Yes. We can supply brackets with all required hardware: bolts, washers, lock washers, nuts, and thread-locking patches applied to specified threads. Brackets can also be supplied with Heli-Coil threaded inserts, PEM nuts, or studs pressed in. Hardware is sourced from reputable manufacturers with traceability.
We offer black oxide, zinc plating (clear, yellow, or black), electroless nickel, hard anodizing (MIL-A-8625 Type III), powder coating, and e-coating. For outdoor or marine applications, we recommend 316 stainless steel or 6061 aluminum with hard anodizing. Coating thickness and salt spray test reports are available.
Adding triangular gussets to L-brackets increases stiffness by up to 300% with minimal material addition. This allows you to use a thinner stock thickness and save on both material and machining time.
A sharp internal corner at the bracket apex creates a stress concentration point. Specifying a fillet radius of at least 3mm distributes load and improves fatigue life without adding cost.
Slotted mounting holes give you adjustability during assembly and reduce tolerance requirements on hole positions. TruPart machines slots to ±0.05mm width with clean edge finish.
For brackets that mount components, adding a threaded boss (rather than a through-hole with nut) reduces fastener count and installation time. TruPart machines integral bosses from solid stock.
Visible brackets benefit from a uniform brushed or bead-blasted finish. This hides minor machining marks and gives a consistent appearance without the cost of full secondary finishing.
