We machine fixture plates from 6061-T6 and 7075-T6 aluminum, A2/D2 tool steel, and 304/316 stainless steel. Aluminum is preferred for weight reduction on pallet systems, while tool steel is chosen for high-wear locating pins and bushings. All materials are certified with traceable mill test reports.
We hold ±0.005mm on locating pin diameters and ±0.01mm on pin-to-pin center distances. All critical dimensions are verified with Zeiss CMM and documented in our inspection reports. Our DMG MORI 5-axis machines ensure positional accuracy across complex fixture assemblies.
We machine both individual fixture components and complete weldment assemblies. For built-up fixtures, we machine the base plate, risers, locating pins, clamps, and bushings, then supply them as a kitted assembly with BOM and inspection certificate. We also perform in-house surface grinding and EDM for key features.
We achieve Ra 0.4µm on locating surfaces and Ra 0.8µm on general fixture faces. Where required, we can grind to Ra 0.2µm for precision wear strips and locating pads. Surface finishes are verified with Mitutoyo profilometers.
Yes. We offer hard anodizing (MIL-A-8625 Type III), nitriding, black oxide, electroless nickel plating, and DLC coating for wear resistance. Our partners are ISO 9001 certified coating facilities. We also have in-house heat treatment capability for stress relieving and through-hardening.
We accept STEP, IGES, Parasolid, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD DWG/DXF files. For complex fixture assemblies, we prefer STEP AP242 with PMI for GD&T callouts. Our engineering team can also work from PDF drawings and reverse-engineer existing fixtures.
Aluminum 6061-T6 is the go-to material for automation fixtures with excellent machinability, good strength-to-weight ratio, and cost-effectiveness. Upgrade to 7075 for higher wear applications.
Fixture locating features and dowel pin holes should be specified at ±0.01mm with true position ≤0.02mm. CMM inspection is essential for repeatability in automated assembly cells.
